The 2020 Symposium will, among other matters, explore the new elements of the 2021 World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards, which were approved at the Fifth World Conference on Doping in Sport held in November 2019.

As was the case for the 2019 Symposium, the 2020 edition will be carried out over two days versus three, which was requested by the majority of respondents to WADA’s post-2019 Symposium survey.

In addition, following the success of the first ever dedicated Athlete Session at the same venue during the 2019 Symposium, the Agency will once again dedicate a full day to an Athlete Session. The Session, which is exclusively for the athlete community, will be held this time following the Symposium in order to enable athletes to attend all the sessions of the event.

As per previous editions, WADA will once again welcome representatives of the media during the plenary sessions on the first day of the Symposium, which will also feature keynote presentations by incoming WADA President Witold Bańka and WADA Director General Olivier Niggli.

The Symposium will also include numerous parallel, breakout sessions that participants will be able to select based on their personal interests and professional development needs.

Coffee and lunch breaks will be centred around networking opportunities, allowing for more personal exchanges and bilateral discussions amongst participants.

*Please also note that WADA will film and take photographs during the Symposium.
